IronEdge Coaching is offering athletes 16 or 24 week Comprehensive Training Plans, specifically tailored to meet the rigors of the Battle at Midway Triathlon course. These plans have been developed to enhance each BAM competitor's ability to succeed on race day, whether they be beginner, intermediate or advanced athletes.

Mental Prep/Goal Setting/Race Day Tips: Dr. Marc Strickland holds a doctorate in Psychology and a Master’s in Exercise and Sport Science. He has published various professional articles and has conducted research on Olympic excellence, imagery and chronic pain in sport.
TRAINING PLAN DESCRIPTIONS:

BEGINNER BAM 24-WEEK PLAN (Starts 12/30/07) - This is a 24 week beginner Olympic Triathlon training plan. This plan is for the beginner Multisport athlete who has not competed in a Triathlon before or is looking for longer than a 16 week training plan. You should be in good health and be able to handle a beginning volume of around 4 hours per week. Workouts are kept easy, conversation type pace, as this is a beginner plan and our main goal is to just get you to the finish line on raceday.
In addition to the Training Schedule developed by 5x Ironman Champion Heather Gollnick, plans will include a Goal Setting Section developed by Sports Psychologist Dr. Marc Strickland and Nutrition Tips by Dr. Rick Kattouf, author of “Forever Fit”.
- BEGINNER 24 WEEK PLAN COST: $149
BEGINNER BAM 16-WEEK PLAN (Starts 2/24/08) - This is a 16 week beginner Olympic Triathlon training plan. This plan is for the beginner Multisport athlete who has maybe competed in a Triathlon before. INTERMEDIATE BAM 16-WEEK PLAN (Starts 4/20/08) - This 16 week Intermediate Olympic Triathlon training plan is designed for a person who maintains their health and remains fit throughout the year. Your fitness might include some combination of running, spin classes or outdoor biking. You may currently swim laps or have swimming experience from past years. You may also be involved in other sports. You can already finish an Olympic distance triathlon comfortably, and are looking to make some improvements in all three sports in order to finish a little faster.
In addition to the Training Schedule developed by 5x Ironman Champion Heather Gollnick, plans will include a Goal Setting Section developed by Sports Psychologist Dr. Marc Strickland and Nutrition Tips by Dr. Rick Kattouf, author of “Forever Fit”.

ADVANCED BAM 16-WEEK PLAN (Starts 2/24/08) - This 16 week Advanced Olympic Training plan is designed for the experienced triathlete looking not just to finish at this years Battle at Midway, but to compete at the highest level Possible. Your fitness level allows you to perform several higher-intensity workouts each Week. If your goal is to place in your age-group category or overall at this years BAM Triathlon, then this is your plan!
